ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition is a triennial competition held in Dublin. 

The Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition is an established Irish musical event of international standing. The competition is committed to discovering the future’s best classical singers, and continue to encourage the development of Irish and international vocal talent. Dearbhla has been the guiding force behind the competition since 2006, holding the position of Artistic Director. She is passionately aligned to its mission and values, and has worked to firmly position VDISC as a leading vocal competition on the world stage.

Previous guest jury members have included Wigmore Hall Director John Gilhooly, conductor Richard Bonynge AC CBE, casting director Olga Kapanina, Andreas Massow of the Bavarian State Opera, Peter Carwell of the Richard Tucker Foundation and Evamaria Wieser of Salzburg Festival and Lyric Opera of Chicago. Past prizewinners have included Nadine Sierra, Fatma Said, William Thomas, Sarah-Jane Brandon, Tara Erraught, Simon O’Neill and Pumeza Matshikiza.

The next competition will take place from 25th to 30th August 2022.
